JUAN GIL MONASTRELL 2008
Red young wine 4 months-oaked
100% Monastrell
Grapes used for this wine come from old vineyards (average
of forty years) from the northeast of Jumilla, placed at 700 metres
high in the surronding area of our cellar. These grapes were harvested
by hand during the third week of October. Harvest took place
during two weeks at 27ºC.
Once the fermentation finished at the beginning of November, the
wine was moved to new French and American oaked barrels. The wine
stayed here during four months until the end of March.
- TASTING NOTES:
Intense deep red cherry colour. Powerful in nose, clean and complex.
Very attractive fruity aromas, touchs of ripe fruit and reminds
of new wood. Well- constituted in mouth, well-structured, lifely
and tasty, taking shape, well-balanced and very good in presence.
- MATCHING FOOD:
Rices, cooked dish, vegetable, mushroom, stewed meat, sausage, pork, roast meat, red and/or white meat with sauces, grilled meat, short or medium chesse.
