PEDRERA MONASTRELL-SYRAH 2009
Red young wine
75 % Monastrell - 25 % Syrah
Grapes used to ellaborate this wine are found in vineyards
around 700 metres high in La Aragona place. These vineyards go round
the cellar, at 10 km in the northeast of Jumilla.
Vineyards from Monastrell have an average age of 25 years. Those from
Syrah, 7 years.
Recollection of Syrah was made by hand in the second week of September. Recollection of Monastrell was made in the third week of October.
Ellaboration was made soaking, at the beginning, before the
fermentation, at 14ºC. Then, for a week and until the end of
the alcoholic fermentation, temperature was maintained at 24ºC.
Both wines have stayed separately in stainless steel tanks, where
they have made the malolactic fermentation. Coupage was made during
the first week of March and was bottled during the last week
of March of this year.
- TASTING NOTES:
Deep cherry red colour very intense. In nose, flower aromas with touch
of ripe fruit and soothing essence. Very well structured in mouth,
well-balanced and tanning of ripe fruit.
- MATCHING FOOD:
